In this interactive session, we will dive into the world of networks, vulnerabilities and security. You will have the chance to participate in a Capture the Flag (CTF) challenge, using a wired/wireless network from Extreme Networks to break into a vulnerable application. Our expert, Bert Verschaeve, will be present to guide you through the process, give tips and teach you how to prevent these vulnerabilities with the right network security. We will also cover the role of the Barracuda Web Application Firewall (WAF) and how to optimally deploy Extreme Networks for a secure network environment.
- Vulnerable website:
- How to analyse and troubleshoot a vulnerable website.
- Capture the Flag: Work with colleagues to capture the flag and score points.
- Access Point and Wi-Fi network: Use a wired/wireless network from Extreme Networks to break in.
- WAF Barracuda: What can the Barracuda WAF see and how can it help improve your network security?

Target audience
This workshop is designed for technical professionals aswell as beginners.
Agenda:
14:30 – 15:00
The session starts with an introduction by Bert Verschaeve. Get acquainted with the agenda and content of the afternoon.
15:00 – Capture the Flag
From 15:00, we will start the Capture the Flag challenge. Work together to find vulnerabilities and capture the ‘flag’. You can collect points even if you don’t find the flag. There are great prizes to be won!
In between – Snacks & Drinks
Enjoy tasty snacks and drinks while you get started. We will provide enough energy to continue hacking.
18:00 – Pizzas
We’ll treat you to pizzas, so that you can also enjoy good food and network with colleagues during the event.
18:30 – Analysis & Prevention
We take a closer look at how you could have prevented the vulnerabilities. Bert Verschaeve, together with Extreme Networks and Barracuda Networks, will discuss how to set up a secure network.
19:30 – End
The event is coming to an end. We thank you for your participation and look forward to another session!
