In the Netherlands, <strong>60% of companie<\/strong>s expect to fall victim to a cyber attack by 2024. Only<strong> 40% of companies<\/strong> are prepared for it.<\/p>\n<p>These are the findings of a recent Deloitte survey of 500 IT security professionals in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<h3>Consequences can be disastrous<\/h3>\n<p>In the Netherlands, three quarters of companies that experienced an attack in the past 12 months estimate the financial impact at \u20ac900,000 on average. Almost a quarter (25%) even experienced a loss of \u20ac2 million. And 30% of respondents say they have had to lay off employees due to the economic impact of a cyber-attack.<\/p>\n<h3>Much work remains to be done<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the increasing threat, there is still a lot of work to be done on cyber security. Only 40% of Dutch companies are adequately prepared for a cyber attack. And while 55% expect IT cybersecurity budgets to increase this year, too little is being invested in securing users and their devices.<\/p>\n<p>Zero-Trust Architecture as a solution<\/p>\n<p>A Zero Trust architecture can provide an important solution. With this security method, users and devices are no longer automatically trusted within the network. Access is granted only after verification and authentication.<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>The cyber threat is real and acute. Waiting until it is too late is not an option! In the Netherlands, companies face a 60% real risk of falling victim to a cyber attack this year.
